Step 02: Install Apache NetBeans 12.1 on Windows 10
After you finish downloading the Apache NetBeans 12.1 IDEfile, we continue with the installation.
To install, you have to unzip the file, and in this tutorial, I will teach you how to unzip with the WinRAR program by right-clicking on the file “incubating-NetBeans-11.0-bin” and then click where it says Extract here.
Decompression of the Apache NetBeans 11 file will take a few seconds; we have to wait until the decompression process is complete.
Once decompression is complete, a new folder called “Netbeans” will appear. This folder is essential because it contains the Apache NetBeans 11 program.
Then this “NetBeans” folder, we have to copy a different path to use it without any problem.
To copy this Apache NetBeans 11folder, we have to do the following: right-click on the “NetBeans” folder and then click Copy.
Once we copy the “NetBeans” folder, now we need to paste this folder “Netbeans” inside “Local Disk C.”
This step is done as follows; we need to click on the This Computer option, and then we need to enter “Local Disk C” (See image below).
Once we are inside “Local Disk C,” now we have to right-click on a space to paste the folder “Netbeans.”
Performing this step is very important to enjoy the Apache NetBeans 11 program on our computer developer.
After pasting the “Netbeans” file inside “Local Disk C,” now we need to enter inside the “NetBeans” folder to configure the Java JDK 11 path.
After entering the “NetBeans” folder, we now look for a folder called “etc.,” In the same way, we have to enter inside the folder.
Inside the “etc.” folder, we need to locate a file called “Netbeans.conf,” and once the file is located, we need to right-click on the file “Netbeans.conf” and then click “Open with” (See image below)
Then a window will appear with a question How do you want to open this file?, in that window, you have to choose WordPad and then de-select where it says, “Always use this application to open the .conf files.”
And finally, to open the file in WordPad, we have to click the OK button.
After opening the file “Netbeans. conf,” we will now search almost at the end a line of code and appears in the image below ( see image below).
Once you have installed Java JDK 11,you have to follow this step: This computer >> Local Disk (C) >> Program Files >> Java >> jdk-11.0.3 >> bin.
Once you are inside the “bin” folder, you have to copy the path(See image below).
To paste the Java JDK 11 path, we first need to delete what is inside quotation marks and then paste the Java JDK 11 path that we just copied into the quotation marks.
Once we’ve copied the Java JDK 11path, we need to change the backslashes to slash (/) and look in the image below.
To proceed with the installation of the Apache NetBeans 11 program, we now need to do the following: remove the numeral sign( ) or pad that is located at the beginning of the line of code ( see image below).
After making these settings in the “NetBeans.conf” file, we need to save the changes we have made and close the “NetBeans.conf” file.
Step 03: Launch the Apache NetBeans 11 IDE
To work with the Apache Netbeans 11 IDE, we need to enter a path by doing the following: This computer >> Local Disk (C) >> Netbeans >> bin.
In this path, we have to locate an application called “netbeans64”, and this application we have to send to the desktop as a shortcut by right-clicking on the application.
On the desktop, we can view the shortcut of the Apache NetBeans 11 IDE, and by this means, we can open the Apache NetBeans 11 IDE.
NOTE: When you open the Apache NetBeans 11 IDE for the first time, a small window will appear, and in it, you will do the following: click the yes button so that you can use Java JDK 11 by default.
